What does this job entail?

How effectively do we manage our risks? How could we do it even better? The Internal Audit Department helps all KBC Group entities find answers to these questions. As part of this team, your focus will be on the processes within the Financial Markets domain (trading, sales, controlling) and market risks (trading market risks, counterparty credit risks).

What do we expect from you?

• You will perform audit assignments end-to-end to a high standard and respecting deadlines. Depending on the scope of the assignment, you will be a member or leader of a team of fellow auditors.
o You will identify operational risks in processes.
o You will make a case for why a particular risk has been insufficiently mitigated.
o You will back up your argument with data.
• You will present the insights gained from the audit assignment to line management. In doing so, you will persuade them to make change to internal controls or to how a particular risk is managed.
• When necessary, you can count on the support of the management team.

Your profile :

• You have a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Commercial Engineering or Business Administration.
• You have a keen interest in the financial markets, supervisory frameworks, modelling, risk management and related fields.
• You have experience working in a dealing room, in asset management, brokerage, (market) risk management, a back office setting or in financial control. Are you familiar with Python? That is a definite bonus, but not essential.
• You have an eye for detail, but don’t allow yourself to be distracted from the bigger picture. You quickly grasp the essence of a process or a legal or other text.
• You have strong communication skills in English and Dutch. You are for example able to write a clear report or deliver a persuasive presentation in either language.
• Like your colleagues, you derive satisfaction from achieving goals as a team.
• Your approach is result-oriented, critical and pragmatic.
